Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) Program
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) program will prepare you for employment in all phases of laboratory medicine leading to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

CLS students examines a sampleCLS majors are educated in the theoretical and practical aspects of clinical medicine including: hematology, microbiology, parasitology, mycology, immunology, immunohematology, biochemistry, and urinalysis. You’ll learn manual and automated techniques as well as the theory behind each testing procedure.

In addition to the traditional major, we also offer an opportunity for medical laboratory technicians with their associate’s degree to articulate to the Bachelor of Science level on a full- or part-time basis. Articulation generally takes two additional years at Western to upgrade to the baccalaureate degree. Upgrading tends to enhance opportunity for advancement, salary levels and job status.
