National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to Share Two New Opportunities with GRC Members
September 11, 2008: 2 - 4 p.m. ET
Barbara Ashbrook, Assistant Director of the Division of Education Programs at the , NEH will lead a GRC web conference on two new funding opportunities to improve the quality of humanities education in undergraduate institutions. Questions will be taken on the Teaching Development Fellowships program, providing a rare opportunity for applicants to receive detailed guidance, as draft proposals will not be reviewed by NEH staff prior to the October 1, 2008 deadline. Participants will also be among the first to learn about a new NEH program for teaching-intensive undergraduate institutions, an opportunity particularly well-suited to many GRC members. Ashbrook reports that the solicitation is still under development and will be released just after Labor Day.
Preparing Competitive National Science Foundation (NSF) Proposals: A Live Broadcast From the GRC External Funding Conference
October 7, 2008: 1 - 3 p.m. ET
A panel of administrators and program directors will lead detailed discussions on proposal preparation, the NSF merit review process, and agency guidance on conflict of interest issues.
